The familiarity principle is something we use as part of our broader digital marketing strategies, but it all starts with content.
Also known as the mere exposure effect is essentially means that people tend to develop a preference for things merely because they are familiar with them. In simple terms, the more we see and understand something, the more we like it, and therefore trust it. Being familiar with a brand or product means we are 71% more likely to make a purchase.
Why is this important in your content strategy?
Because you need to communicate your message or offering multiple times before you will be able to convert prospects into customers.
The great thing about this is you can create 1x really great pieces of content EG. A Video. Then look at repurposing that video in multiple ways.
We follow #TheContentWaterfall process. It allows us to create up to 170 pieces of content in the form of blogs, podcasts, social media posts, lead magnets and much much more from just 1x great piece of original content.
